Craving of the week!!

Yummy!!! That is what I kept telling myself yesterday around noon when I was on my way to pick Evan up from preschool... Why?? Because I knew we were going to venture out to Target and for once I actually had the craving that everyone else in my house has EVERY time we go to Target..
I started a very bad habit with Evan when he was a little over one and I was about 6 months pregnant with Landon. I LOVE Target... everything about it actually... I am not sure why but it just makes me happy when I am in there and it needs my undivided attention at ALL times... (how do you make that happen when you have a toddler in the cart??) I have the answer!! You stop by the snack stand and get the POPCORN & DRINK combo..... with a mountain dew of course!!!
I know...I know... buttered, salted popcorn and sugar induced coma from Mountain Dew probably aren't the best things to give a 1 1/2 year old but I do it..... every time we go... (1-2 times a week..) It is like the magic pill for Evan.. It is amazing and we get the best of both worlds.. He is happy to have a "snack" and I am happy to "shop!"
After Landon was born and was old enough (1year) we started him in on the "family tradition" as well... He isn't as calm as  Evan is and he often dumps his popcorn over into the aisle but overall I can usually get a good hour out of them when we go to Target....
All of this leads me to tell you that I was VERY upset when we walked into Target yesterday..... My mouth was almost watering just from thinking about finally being able to eat some popcorn because I have to snatch baby hand fulls up at a time out of the boys' bags when they  aren't looking so they don't have a fit!! (I was going to actually buy me a separate combo.... to insure that the baby ate all of the popcorn that she/he wanted...)
As we walked into Target and turned the usual corner into the snack bar this is what I saw!!

"Out of order....Sorry for the inconvenience.... " WHAT??? You have got to be kidding me??? How in the world can it be that the ONE time I actually want a whole bag of popcorn the dang machine is broken???  I couldn't believe it....
Then the boys noticed and oh my goodness let me just tell you that my boys must be addicted to popcorn and mountain dew because a freak out session started right in the snack bar... I  had to think fast..What else could I get them and QUICK so that they would hush up so I could shop???? Yeap.. You probably guessed it... Evan got the monster chocolate chip cookie and Landon got the monster sugar cookie..... and I got a baby bite of each along with about 3-5 sips of Mountain Dew.....
So.... what else have I enjoyed eating this week??? This one actually was "second" to the popcorn but since I didn't get any popcorn this will have to do.. It is much healthier for you so I guess that is a plus but don't you worry Mr.Popcorn machine.. I will be back next week in full force ready to attack your salty, buttered bottom!!
Until then, here is my craving of the week!!!
grapes,pineapple,strawberries and cantaloupe!!
Happy cravings everyone!!

17 weeks!!!!

Wow!! 17 weeks already.... that means we are almost halfway there.... Scary.... Where in the world is the time going?? It really needs to slow down a little!

I have to say.... I grew this week.. not only in the belly but also in the behind... and I am not so happy about it. You see, last week Aaron and I went on vacation and I made a conscious effort to eat healthy so that I wouldn't come back 5 pounds heavier...... I always eat healthy but tend to sometimes "slip up" on vacations and I refused to "slip up" this time... I stuck to my plan of eating healthy and I was quite proud of myself until I got on the scale this morning!!!
Here is a little summary of what I ate and you tell me if you think my behind should have grown..

Day one:
-egg white sandwich from Cracker Barrel with sour dough bread....(no biscuits) fried apples... yummy!!
-chef salad with no cheese and fat free dressing on the side. (no meat... I have given it all up..)
-3 mini cow tales and 2 mini bit o honeys
-mini bag of baked layes (fat free)

Day two:
-whole wheat bagel with fat free cream cheese
- 6 inch veggie patty from Subway with the following condiments... lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, bell peppers, pickles, salt and pepper... and fat free honey mustard..
-1 piece of carrot cake from The Cheesecake Factory...(it was Yummy!!!)
-chef salad with no meat or cheese and fat free dressing on the side..
- 2 mini cow tales

Day three:
- no breakfast.... we slept in. (that was more important)
-vegetable soup
-chef salad with no meat or cheese and fat free dressing on the side..
-grilled tilapia, green beans, mashed potatoes, side salad
-3 mini cow tales (that was all that was left....)

Day four:
- fresh strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, grapes, egg whites on a piece of whole wheat toast, and orange juice.
-6 inch veggie melt from Subway the same way as before with a mini bag of fat free chips
-vegetable stir fry

Day five:
-same breakfast as yesterday
-same lunch as yesterday
-bowl of Special K red berries cereal

** I always keep record of what I eat so this shouldn't shock you all..... After what I had to eat on top of walking a kazillion miles, and drinking gallons of water a day..... I came home and gained 2.4 pounds in just five days.... What the heck???? I wanted to throw my scale out of the window... This just isn't fair... I pride myself on eating  healthy and living a healthy lifestyle and this is what I get in return???Something is wrong with this picture....

In that case.... maybe I should have eaten dessert with every meal and had french fries instead of baked layes, had tons of soda instead of the gallons of water I consumed, and eaten fried chicken instead of my veggie patties...... Uurrgghhhh... on second thought... the scale would have probably gone up 10 pounds and I would have gagged to death from eating the chicken that I have sworn off after watching the movie Food Inc....

Meat for me=gag reflex=vomit... and I refuse to vomit this pregnancy!!! So thanks but no thanks!!

Anyway.... Here are my belly pics from this week along with a summary of what our little one is up to this week!!! Enjoy!!
can't really tell anything with this shirt... but it is there... I promise!
told ya!!!

How your baby's growing:

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

what our little one looks like this week!!

A vaca for two!!

What a week.... Last week Aaron and I went on a little mini vacation to Cincinnati, Ohio to visit some family and to go to a wedding.... I had been looking forward to this for a LONG time because Aaron and I hadn't been anywhere "alone" in over a year... and it was needed BAD.. not only for us as a couple but also for me as a stay at home mommy who often never sees the daylight...
So, after a short trip to drop the boys off in Raleigh we were well on our way to a little getaway. Fast forward 12 hours and we were finally in Ohio. (Let me just tell you...... pregnant women in a little sports car for 12 hours is like torture. besides all of the "pee" breaks, my poor little belly and legs were aching from sitting still so long.) Here is a pic or two of the drive up...
yeap.. it rained the whole way there!!
in the tunnel!!

It was well worth it though... Once we got to our hotel I knew my serenity had appeared.

view from inside our hotel...

After a short nights' rest, Aaron and I ventured out the next day to get me a jacket (it snowed Thursday and I had no coat) and a new dress (I only brought one and I needed two.) While we were shopping Aaron had a craving... hehe... and so did I.
Here they are!!

Aaron's craving.... A heart attack waiting to happen!

my craving.... pounds to my rear waiting to happen.. To my credit, Aaron ate the red velvet cheesecake and I ate the carrot cake... or should I say the baby ate the carrot cake.. hehe!

After our cravings were satisfied, we ventured out and did a little sight seeing... Here are a few pics from that.

downtown Cincinnati
blue bridge...
there were trains everywhere... It was crazy...

The next day was the wedding and I have to be honest... I was really looking forward to getting all dressed up in a fancy little dress and my high heels... It has been FOREVER since I have been able to get dressed because let's face it.... I am a stay at home mom and for those of you that don't know... high heels turn into flats and flip flops and nice, fancy clothes turn into stretch pants, tank tops, and the occasional jeans and t-shirt... I was finally able to spend over an hour getting ready without interruption. I couldn't believe it. I was actually able to stand in front of the mirror and match my jewelry to my outfit instead of throwing on a silver pair of hoops (because silver pretty much matches everything!) Here is a  pic from the wedding!!

sorry it is a little blurry... but you get the point!

Saturday we mostly spent the day visiting family and then we went to a nice dinner with some more family that we had yet to see this trip..
Aaron, his grandma, and his mom

Then yesterday was the dreading drive back.... It ended up not being that bad since I picked up the boys today but still 8 hours in a car for a prego gal is no fun.... but atleast I had my Cow Tales...

one word... YUMMY!!

Needless to say our trip was a blast but it is nice to be back home..... The real question now is.... How in the world am I going to survive a 12 hour trip in 6 weeks WITH kids when we go to Disney World especially when they act like this in a car?!?!?!?!

don't let Landon fool you... He was up to something I'm sure!

Craving of the week!!

Yummo!! This week has been vacation week and therefore I have given myself permission to indudge in a few things that I normally would turn down because of the calorie/sugar/carb intake..I believe I have eaten more bread in the past 4 days than I had in the previous month...
As Aaron and I were driving up to Ohio we stopped by Cracker Barrel to eat some lunch. Now usually I would just eat my lunch, go pay at the register, and walk out the door.... But not Wednesday... Oh no... The baby wanted me to go look around in the candy section because she/he was wanting something sweet to munch on for the remaining 6 hours that we had left to drive....
I walked around and around looking for the perfect "craving" and then it appeared right before me... It took me back to when I was a little girl shopping in the candy store with the five dollars that my papa gave me to spend.
I saw these sweet treats and knew that they had to be purchased.. I knew that the baby would fall in love with them just like I had done years ago!!

So here is to my sweet, sugary craving this week!!

Yeap.. That's right... I got me some Cow Tales.... They were delicious!! The entire bag is now gone..... Looks like we may stop back by another Cracker Barrel on the way home so that the baby can get her/his fix again!!!!

16 weeks equals 4 months prego!!

Wow!! 16 weeks pregnant today.. Where is the time going? It seems like the weeks just keep going by faster and faster...

Our 15th week was a great week (besides my "little" meltdown.) Aaron felt the baby flutter across my belly Friday morning.. FINALLY!! It was so great for him to be able to feel our little one moving around.. Saturday the baby seemed to want to do nothing but toss and turn in my belly but yesterday was a quiet day.. Only a few little flutters here and there.. I am so excited that I am finally at the stage in my pregnancy where it feels real. I can actually feel the life that is inside of me and it is just amazing.

I feel like I have hit a big growth spurt over the last week... My stomach is now at the point to where I can NOT suck in.. and if I try to it just hurts.. I can't lay on my stomach anymore to sleep.. (that really annoys me) and of all the things that could swell up on me... my toes are swollen.. not my feet, ankles, or anything else... just my toes.. It looks just gross.. but I guess it could be way worse..

This weeks weight gain was 1.2 pounds... Ouch! Taking the total to 6.2 pounds..... I have a feeling it's going to go up a lot more here real soon!!

On another note... I did some rearranging this weekend... I moved the boys playroom into Landon's old room. Landon and Evan are now sharing a room since there will soon be THREE little ones in our house!!! OMG!!! A family of 5.... It just doesn't sound real....

And of course they still need a playroom because goodness gracious I buy them WAY TOO MANY TOYS!!!

I was really nervous about this transition because I didn't know how Evan would feel about sharing his room with his brother BUT much to my surprise they both love it... Evan gets to be on the top bunk and let me just tell you that he thinks he is hot stuff sleeping on the top bunk...

The old playroom is now an empty space... If we are having a girl... she will get that room because it is the biggest of the bedrooms.... and we all know that girls need a bigger room than boys do...but if we are having a boy... Evan and Landon will get the big room since they are now sharing a room...

That's really all for the weekly updates....Kind of a boring post.. but they all can't be filled with excitement right?!?!?

Here is what our little bundle is doing this week!!

How your baby's growing:

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
See what your baby looks like this week. (Or see what fraternal twins look like in the womb this week.)

Crazy week equals random Craving of the week!!

This week has been quite adventurous. It started off on the wrong foot I guess you could say with all of this sickness going around and it hasn't seemed to calm down at all. Monday and Tuesday  all I really did was blow noses, cleaned snot, and changed NASTY diapers because Landon is teething AGAIN!!
Yesterday I reached my limit and had my first official prego lady meltdown. Here is how the day went..

6:30-Landon decided it was time to WAKE up.... No warning like an alarm clock that I can hit snooze 2-5 times... It was get up now mommy because I want this and that.
7:15- got kids dressed and started to make breakfast
8:30-left for preschool
9:15-returned home from preschool with Landon passed out in his car seat (he woke up and was ill from that point on.)
10:30-I got myself a shower and was ready to get some shopping done...( not fun shopping but the dumb necessities that you have to buy every week.)
11:15-Landon decided to throw out his bag of popcorn in the middle of the aisle at Target resulting in me getting the "what kind of mom would let her child do that" stares from strangers that "apparently" don't know my toddler.
12:30-Left Target to get Evan from preschool
1:10-Got home from preschool
1:30-Estimator came to give quote for getting a fence put up in the back yard (perfect opportunity for kids to destroy the house..)
2:15- I walked upstairs to find the playroom that I JUST cleaned the evening before a COMPLETE mess!!
2:15- I "nicely" asked Evan and Landon to clean up.
2:30- Landon decided to take off his diaper and crap on the floor....
3:00-I organized spring clothes in the boys' room because they now share a room to prepare for the baby... (We have 4 bedrooms but one room will have to remain the playroom...)
4:00- Playroom was even more of a mess so I "NOT" so nicely told the boys if they don't clean up I was putting their toys in trash bags and giving them away..
4:15- I got the trash bags and started filling them up resulting in hysterical screaming and crying...
4:30- Aaron got home and found me sitting on Evan's bed with my head in between my legs...
4:35- He asked me if I was okay and then I lost it.. I started crying hysterically and couldn't stop..
5:00- I got myself composed and tried to figure out what was for dinner
6:00- I made dinner.... Ramen noodles for the boys and veggie stir fry for me...
6:00- I decided I didn't want stir fry and almost went into another panic..
6:30- I told Aaron that I was leaving in his car and if I wan't back in an hour to wait another hour..... (I wasn't kidding!!)
7:15- I arrived home with this in my hand.....

Not Landon... but the Route 44 Cherry Slushy that somehow saved my life (and my childrens' lives last night..)
I went out searching for something  that would help relax me.... So thank you Sonic for your amazing Cherry Shushy... I now know where to go if I feel like I may cause harm to myself or others in a moment of crisis!!!

Our first baby trip!!!!

I'm so excited... Evan, Landon, and I ventured out to Target today to pick up our weekly items and I also had a few coupons that were getting ready to expire so of course I had to use them.... As we were walking down the aisles I had the grand idea to pick up a thing or two for the baby.... (actually it was Evan's idea when he saw baby wipes with a little baby girl on the box- because we all know according to him he is having a baby sister... NOT another brother..)
He didn't have to twist my arm to get me to pick out a few things so this is what we got!!

Item number one- 2 packs of DIAPERS because goodness gracious you go through those things like crazy..
Item number two- 2 packs of baby wipes and 1 travel bag of wipes
Item number three- honey apple baby wash
Item number four- baby teether

There were SEVERAL other items that I wanted to get BUT I have been given direct orders from the hubby that I can NOT buy anything that indicates that we are having a girl or a boy..... (I would really only buy pink but for a little boy's sake let's say blue too...)

I have been given these direct orders because when I was pregnant with Landon I decided that I would buy an item of clothing before we knew the gender and Aaron swears that this is why he turned out to be a boy and not a girl...
the outfit that Aaron swears made Landon somehow grow balls in my belly instead of ovaries!!!

My husband  is very superstitious about this whole baby thing so until April 4th I guess I will buy diapers, wipes, baby lotion, baby wash, and maybe a paci or two...... (It's only 34 days away... but who's counting?!?! )
